I wont spoil if you don't want me to but I just looking at his character thus far and his goals to just remain on his tiny island, not getting involved with troublesome things... I don't think he's has it anywhere in his mind to fight for equality beyond his own comfort. Maybe if he were pushed into the situation he would do something, but I can't see him ever seeking out something that would cause him trouble.
