He is sweet but oblivious. We know he doesn't have enough social skills though so it's understandable that he doesn't really understand why Sang Hwa is so upset. Facing countless rejections will make him feel sad and hopeless. Although Sang Hwa appreciates everything Mirae does for him but he also wants to not be a burden. As a man, he also wants to contribute and be Mirae's strength. It just made him upset because Mirae's words felt like wasn't trusted enough to do so. Don't worry they love each other and they'll resolve this.
You know what here I thought I'd vent about Mirae being insensitive. I mean I understand though he lacks social skills and even has some difficulty understanding emotions. BUT hahahahahahah when I read the comments everyone just talking about Sanghwa's disaster hair.
