Well for Rezef. Since his sisters attitude changed towards him, he starts treating her as a sister and gets a little obsessed with keeping her by his side. This is because she’s the first one to show him love and kindness. However he does something that makes the FL come to hate him and she starts plotting revenge. Then the ML raphael falls for the FL but for now I’m the novel, the female lead isn’t really deeply invested in him yet but he’s a good guy who cares for her. The ML and Rezef are half brothers. They have the same father. Hope this helps... I’d also like to say Rezef is an okay person. He was just raised twisted and I hope the author can redeem his character

ML and Rezef do have the same father but its the Duke, not the Emperor, technically Raphael and Cateya isn't blood related, FL and Rezef has the same mother(Empress) and ML and Rezef has the same father (Duke)
Pressed post by accident... also this part is spoilerish... the empress had an affair with the duke when she went south to recuperate after giving birth to Cateya, that's where she met the duke and they had an affair. The emperor really loved the empress and he couldn't take it that she was made into a fool. The emperor then said that Rezef is his son by his mistress and then killed off the empress using her nut allergy.
He then hated Rezef because he resembles the duke and he hated Cateya because she resembled the empress. So he abused both of them mentally as a part of his revenge on the late empress. (BTW Raphael found out, the shitty emperor told him.) In conclusion the emperor is a shitty parent and a scum human being.
