that's defo not what incest is lmao it sure is the type of relationship that will make most people uncomfortable but they would have to be blood related in some way to call this incest. not saying it's right and i know weirds most people out, but incest is taboo for the health problems and deformations it can bring about in incest couple's children
Incest is between people who are closely related by blood. Meaning it could be a relationship between blood sisters, brothers, cousins, uncles, etc.
Step siblings, which is what they are, are people who have different parents, and become siblings because their parents married each other. Since they have different parents, as long as they weren't cousins or related to each other by blood, it's not incest.
Also, the reason people naturally don't like incest is because since they are so closely related and have similar genetics, their offspring have a decreased biological fitness.
I mean, English constantly changes the meaning of words, so more and more people may think that step siblings count as incest, and eventually it probably will, but genetically speaking, it not really incest.

i mean there's a reason why it's fiction too, so. you don't necessarily have to agree with the characters on a moral standpoint, but you can still enjoy their stories despite it. i think the whole quibbling over whether or not this is incest thing is redundant - if you're not into it, then don't read the story, since we know they're ending up together in the end. like i just dont think there's a reason to put yourself through something you dislike

whatever the occasions ... everyone whose within a family is still considered a family. so this is incest
