This is the reason why I hate her.
Later in the novel, when Navier and Heinley announce their marriage, the emperor and rashta head back to their room, and rashta decides to tell the emperor that Navier and Heinley we’re having an affair, and the only reason she lied about being prince Heinley’s pen pal was to supposedly “protect” empress Navier from the news of the affair getting out to the public and the people that live in the palace.
