Yeah, it sounds stupid in our perspective, but you know, this is a real society and kingdom we’re talking about, there’s too many variables to consider. 1: The Head of the Albert House, The Duke, her Father isn’t naive. As I quote from Alicia “The Duke’s knowledge to expand their business, even overseas is second to none.”, the point they were making was, he was just too tolerant of others to punish them and trust them too much to do so. 2: Again, as I quote from Alicia “Even the Dyce Duchy doesn’t have as big as an estate(Albert Estate) as this.” again, implying that not only they consider to be leading all nobles of the kingdom, they completely dominate in the financial influence. 3: Forging alliance between the Royal Family by ink or by words doesn't make difference if other people says otherwise considering the the Albert Duchy's financial, social and power influence as the vassals of the Duke continues to use him. Only an alliance forged by blood is absolute. So it’s not that easy to just say and stay loyal, considering all the nobles sees the Albert superior compared to the Family who’s supposed to lead the Kingdom, which will one way another lead to the Royal Family retaliating to reduce it, which is by force and violence. Alicia’s plan of ruin is far more peaceful than letting the whole family meet the guillotine.

I think I got the naive part mixed up with another one, ngl, but the thing is how the heck you supposed to convince people you're completely loyal to the royal family without people being like okay lmao and continue what they were trying to do? The whole fiance situation made it pretty much worse but if she gets it gone, she good
What the reason, again, that her family must fall into ruin? The update was so long, i can barely remember the details
