I get where you're coming from but he was just straight up a bad father in my opinion. If he really just did it for her best because it's just his way of raising kids why did he treat cosette different? And then giving his daughter a public death sentence without much proof? Not to mention she did look like she got beaten before hand and her hair got cut of.

some comments here says that Keira shouldn't forgive her father because of what happen in the past. I believe that is the wrong approach. if you look at the raws and the novel, he is just an awkward person. and because of his position I think he needs to hold reins on his emotion. as the story progress he is trying his best to be a father to Keira.
