Human nature is complex and people have their own kinks. It's something the adult sexual community recognizes and it's one of the reasons why these works of FICTION exists. Failing to disassociate this with reality shows how much you lack knowledge in this sort of area. A kink and the person who has said kink should not be shamed unless it really has been acted upon without consent. Having a rape kink doesn't directly mean taking someone by force. People literally have rape roleplays with their partners done with consent. Your political correctness is not welcome here and you would only sound like a whiner. We can argue as much but it's not going to get anywhere since most people like you don't argue to reach a conclusion but to force your own basic standards to others. You'd be surprised with the amount people in the world who has rape kink and does this specific play. I'm not speaking for rapists because that's an entirely different thing without consent. I just got irked by a comment somewhere below that stated something along the lines of "people with rape kinks have all the right to be dragged down" which is a very narrow point of view. Hello? Roleplaying? Wouldn't be shocked if you haven't done it before. Imagine dissing a whole community just because it doesn't agree with your opinion. Diss real rapists.

I agree. At the end of the day, we as readers have to distinguish between reality and fiction.

I guess people will be more understanding and considerate once they entered society (eg, working adults). When you talk and meet a whole bunch of people, you'd be amazed and overwhelmed with humans. There are certain things you can say and act like in public. To be a respectable member of society, you have to mature and become an adult. Let's be real, can a person acts casually at a professional setting? You'd probably come off as rude or something.

Because of this, the repressed desires these people have are often sought through fictional readings like this. Once people know their kinks and desires, they'll search for a partner through various legit mediums (dating apps, blind dates etc).

I'm just highlighting that people are complex (just as the OP says) and for us readers to try and understand that there's not one way of looking at things. You might view the rape scenes in fiction (like this manga) as off putting but if I were to do it as a roleplay with my partner, that'd be such a turn on. I see it this way because I can differentiate reality and fiction. There's no way I'm gonna imagine this with just anyone other than my partner you know.

Real rapists with vile thoughts and intentions are the real enemy here. Mindlessly raping people without consent. Not people with kinks, who'd only do rape roleplays with their one and only partner...and with consent at that.

Not to mention that most of yaoi is dubious consent, not rape- let’s just be honest here, what rape victim would be moaning noooo and ah* oh in a realistic scenario? Most of us are adults who know realistic rape is fucked up and that this is just someone’s fantasy after all- I’m not one for dubious consent in yaoi but I don’t really care tbh.

Those people who argue about this should probably go on porn sites and argue about why brother sister role play porn is offensive instead cuz that’s the sort of energy y’all give out y’
    know.

Indeed! I'm glad to see many people agree more and see this as something that's totally valid in the adult sexual community. Usually the people who comment something insensitive about it are underaged or those who simply doesn't have enough knowledge outside the life that they know about.

I myself have repressed fantasies but I'm a professional worker. I don't go around pushing people down. Hahaha.

About dubious consent, I agree with you too. Adult videos in Japan commonly have that characteristic where it starts off as if the person was being forced but ends up moaning in pleasure. The way they portray sexual acts are quite different in the sense that they seem like they're crying, yelling "no" but that's how it just is and it doesn't mean that they're being forced out of their will. It's frustrating how so many readers are so ignorant about it yelling "Rape! Rape!" here and there.

That said, kudos to y'all for the understanding and the open mind.

We don't care because we know it's a work of fiction & just people's fantasies. Thanks for putting my exact thoughts into words regarding dubious consent in yaoi
