For anyone that's interested in why this horrified my now. Please don't mistake me for shaming people for what they like, however glorifying this manga or romanticizing it would just be plain horrific and a result of simple ignorance. This manga has a lot of traction and for all its impact, no one can argue that objectively, its portrays a very unhealthy relationship. Also, please do not attempt to argue w the point that fiction isn't reality, because to say that fiction doesn't influence reality or vice-versa isn't true. As for ppl who wanna know why I don't want an anime adaptation, is because I don't think something so perverse and twisted should get more exposure.

i'm twenty-two chapters in and... the art is phenomenal. that's what i've taken out of it.
the first thing is that it plays into the stereotype where one man in a mlm relationship is more feminine and therefore the bottom (a lot of yaois do this though so i can't criticize only this one for that)
the second thing is, as you said, the literal fetishization of a disability/mental illness. i don't even think i should need to explain this??
there's also the whole thing about shirotani having a crush on his dad (wtf this part is still so confusing to me)
as i said previously, i am only twenty-two chapters in, so maybe it gets better?
but honestly i can't imagine it will.
i think it's fine to read it if people are only reading it for the art, and they recognize that the relationship is not a healthy one in the slightest, but i can imagine how damaging this could be to younger people who have never been in a relationship? i don't know, something about this yaoi just doesn't sit right with me.

oh yea, and i totally forgot about the fact that even though shirotani said no multiple times in tons of different chapters, kurose ignored that and kept going...
all i want is a yaoi where the women aren't insane, the "top" isn't a rapist, and they have a healthy relationship. is that too much to ask? maybe. idk T-T

Honestly, the art was the whole reason this manga was so huge for me. 100% agree with all the reasons you gave and objectively, it never gets better. That being said, I'm sorry to inform you that this relationship is romanticized and glorified. In fact, in some groups it's held up as the epitome of a good, healthy (I know) yaoi romance, and is scheduled for an anime. And, as condescending as it may sound, I don't see an adult, a mature one that is, reading this and going 'woah, this is good'. It's either teen girls or detached adults. Yea, I don't think you'll like this manga much. As someone studying Psychology, this physically pained me. On the other hand, you could check out 7 Days. The artist over here drew for the same manga and it's leagues better. Best of luck!

thanks!! frankly it was really disappointing for me because everyone was hyping it up but it makes me really uncomfortable to read so i don't think i'll be continuing with it...
yea it's actually really disturbing that so many people see this as normal? and i think your comment was the only one i saw that was calling it out.

no aha. i think you need to shut up? i was trying to put it kindly, and you started being rude. anyways, just because a lot of yaois have that stereotypical top/bottom masculine/feminine relationship doesn't make it okay. what type of logic is that?
anyways, i'm simply stating my opinion on this yaoi. if you like it, that's your prerogative.
i'm not really in the mood to argue rn.
and I loved it. Came back to it after many years, and omfg is this manga messed up. It took me years till I eventually matured to realise how messed up this manga is. As horrible as this sounds, I truly hope that this does not get an anime adaptation.
