Well the rape tag isn’t everything. I don’t know how to explain, but personally I’m from those who’re getting real tired of this trope (but again, I’ve been reading yaoi for more than 10 years) yet I’ll still give a try to a manga with that kind of plot. Why?
First, because I read so much I’m numb to it now so I can still kinda enjoy the other good stuff and secondly because I suppose, deep down I always hope something different, like the uke actually making the seme pay for it.
Of course most of the time I’m disappointed but sometimes I manage to get surprised. Like here, the uke’s reaction in chapter 4. I loved it. It was everything. I really thought the story was gonna be different, it had potential but the resolution was too quick and easy so it ended up as “another one those” (I think liss just under your comment really explained my feeling about that part)
Basically I know it doesn’t make much sense but it’s just most of the time I end up being that gif “ I expected nothing and I’m still let down”. Because I guess, deep down, I always hope the manga I’m reading won’t be an easy to forget one. This one is.
(But I would never write hate comments tho, as you said we’re reading this illegally and I’m still thankful for the translators’s hardwork for giving me the opportunity to at least give it a try. And for the author who put a lot of time in making it. Even if I’ll probably forget this work soon, chapter 4 was a good breeze of fresh air)
The reason why I ask to look at rape tag is many rape omegaverse not only manga but also wattpad stories I've read are like what I've said above.I saw ppl saying reading this is like a waste for them cuz this is also one of the sterotype Yaoi stories.Of course,I do understand,we used to disappoint if the things didn't become as expected.For them,saying hate things is easy.But,to a translator who did with much effort and creator who drew spending a lot of time,it is a little intense.Therefore,I suggest to look at rape tag before reading.
Most of omegaverse are based on rape trope. Seme raped uke => then he apologized to uke and said he raped because he loved him => uke forgives him so easily. Some ppl don't like this kind of toxic fantasizing plot.Because they think forgiving someone who means to you once is not realistic and is weird.But do you know what is more weird?Eventhough seeing the rape tag,still reading till the end and blaming this story is blah blah blah..I suggest you not to read if you can't overcome typical Yaoi trope.We all are reading illegally,therefore,I think hate comments for story are a little too much
