This is sth that happens a lot in the comments section of bl manga/webtoons. It's perfectly okay to keep fawning over everything good/bad in a bl story but the moment someone criticizes something that's shitty about the story- they are taking it too far and can't separate fact from fiction apparently. Manga is just another story-telling medium just like books, movies and even music. It's fine to criticize anything you don't like (it can be personal or it can even be something that's objectively bad about the story) on goodreads or a tv-show or anime and people might not always agree which is also fine. But if it's criticizing pointless rape or bad storytelling in yaoi then you're apparently delusional and should just stop reading which is completely the reader's choice. It's just pathetic that most bl works I've read (which would be a lot as it takes a while to actually find one that's good and clicks with me) just need to add rape and then wipe it off the slate like it never happened when the MCs fall in love, why isn't story-telling possible without these nonsensical plot devices. By now most readers have become desensitized to this bizarre aspect of such bl works but now and then I do wonder about the stupidity of such stories. I've seen readers be more indignant if the same shitty things happen in a shoujo manga but have a different stand when it's bl.
