I feel like he was trying to confirm if he likes guys. I think that he might have been in love with Theo's brother. I'm not 100% sure tho

I feel like he was gay as well but since being Amish and everything, it's kinda forbidden so he suppressed it and married Chloe :/

Yeah. Either gay or bi or smth like that. I'm sure he likes guys. I do think that he cares about Chloe tho, but idk if he likes/loves her...
