I’m still kind of confused

Why was that dude in the palace attacked? For what reason?
Also. Is jinwoo’s dad going to be the antagonist? Is he gonna kill his own son?

I read the novel but honestly I forget why they killed the dude in the palace so I don’t think it’s uber important but idk. And about jinwoos dad, I don’t feel like writing what position he has cause and what he does cause I’m lazy

    Lmao I guess not.
But can you at least tell me what kind of group they are?
Are they the monarchs that one monster in the dungeon under truth oath was talking about? Or maybe the dude in the palace was a monarch? He like turned super saiyan.

This is my explanation without spoilers: Obviously those people that murdered the S-Ranker were monarchs. If you recall, when Sung Jin-Woo’s father came out of the cave, there was a conversation between the large dark haired man and an elf looking monarch. They were discussing the Shadow Monarch, and his position, along with the Frost Monarch I do believe, which implies their position. Clearly, the S-Ranker had some sort of influence implanted into him by an unknown but powerful entity that is an enemy to the monarchs. We learned from the Giant King that there are two factions vying for power over earth, and have been infusing magic into it to make it a suitable battlefield for their war- one that will remain habitable after the carnage. It is safe to assume that the “shard” or whatnot of light that the green eyed monarch was referring to was implanted by a very powerful being by the opposing side.

Okay! That gathering scene where they first kinda show the dad and then them talking about the shadow monarch is what leads me to believe that they too are such.

Everything you said is exactly one of the theories what I was suspecting. Thanks for confirming it! I think the opposing side are called the creators. Anyway same as those gigantic sadistic marble statues that move.

Also I kind of forgot the entire story of what the giant king said...but he said that the monarchs are out to get and kill the shadow king right? But my question based off of the story so far is why? I vaguely remember the giant king giving a reason but it didn’t make sense to me

I’m pretty sure that while the Monarchs do want to prevail over the Creators, they are not okay with the “stolen” power that Sung Jin-Woo has. He is the shadow monarch now, but the other Monarchs believe he is a fake, and want to kill him so they can return the Shadow Monarch to his former position. However, Sung Jin-Woo is already the rightful Shadow Monarch- which many speculate that when he was forced into those visions, the original Shadow Monarch willingly let Sung Jin-Woo take his place as his heir, and personally, I think that is also why his appearance/powers have begun to assimilate more.

Hmmm. Was the shadow monarch the very first statue he defeated? After all his powers surfaced after that initial dungeon. I wish they showed and explained who the original shadow monarch was clearly so that this current story arc and the giant king’s story makes a lot more sense sense..then again I’m sure these monarchs are bound to confront jinwoo sooner or later and in a battle or not, they will explain why tf jinwoo is being hunted. This along with the entire backstory as to how those people including his dad became a monarch in the first place. Whew that would be a sight to see FOR SURE.

(I also really appreciate you giving me in depth answers. It’s fun having convos like this about manga I like with others)
