Around the town, you could find different kinds of plants very useful if you knew how to use them.
Young ladies that thought to be pregnant (in their first semester) would go look for the witches and they would tell them how to eat this plant to have diarrea and vomits (it was nothing fun).
After that, there would be no baby, but if they didn't get help from the witches, there was the risk to end up being infertile for the rest of their lifes.
Nowadays, witches are thought to still being existing, having passed their knowledge from mother to daughter, but it's nearly impossible to find them, as they don't want to be known as freaks.
They are mainly sanators, they don't use magic or sacrifices, they only know everything about the island's plants.
