that's what I've been thinking that for to be head they need to exceed the family bloodline.
And it is normally the oldest son in the family.

i don't wanna sound misogynistic but the era(imperial like setting) the story is set in isn't it the legal male heir who becomes the head after coming of age even now isn't the wife only an acting head like isn't she temporary till the brother is an adult. the stepmom doesn't even have an adult son who might take the position lol so why are they acting so fucking dumb???
