If this would be true there wouldn't have been so many popular chinese BL Manhua, Novel, Donghua and Drama in the recent years. Also the 18+ scenes are like this in "hetero" Manhua as well. It's because of the laws concerning pornographic content, so it has nothing to do with this story being "gay" or not. Correct me if I'm wrong (I genuinely might be because I'm purely going off of memory only and I don't have sources) but do they censor the "hetero" couples kissing in manhuas? Because they pretty much ALWAYS do for the gay couples (unless the translators redraw the conveniently place flowers off of the characters lips (lol)). So China STILL kinda based on LGBTQ....

Actually all four options exist. If you scroll through the following chapters you'll find a censored "hetero" kiss, like in the last link (I don't really read hetero stories, so I don't have as many examples as for BL series) and uncensored "gay" kisses.
