I think in Japan its legal consent if one is 13 of age to have sex

I knew it was younger than 18, and since girls can be legally married (w/ parent consent) at age 16, I guessed the age of consent was around 16-17, 15 at the lowest. It's still really young tho, too young to be calling them 'adults' even if they can legally consent to sex.

you're an adult at 20, can marry with parental permission at 16. It's an old law that states age of consent is 13, but with many districts with their own laws forbidding "fortification" under 18.
That's the national age of consent under criminal law, but each prefecture has its own law (like in the U.S., each state has its own age of consent/statutory rape laws), usually around 17 years of age.
Nooo.. who said that?!! You will go to jail if you have sex with children under 18yo in japan. It's not legal. At all.
From what I've learned, the legal age of consent in Japan is 13, however there is the Children Welfare Act ch.34 that forbids sexual acts with a minor (under 18 y/o). So yes, they would go to jail but the age of consent is 13.
Legal age of consent is different from legally by law. Because here the pedophile said about they are adults if they are graduated from elementary school, I assumed we talked about legal by law here. The pedo tried to evade but the past victim was talked aboit legal by law. I know kids this day have sex (each other) early but if they have sex with adult, the adult will be put in jail.
