I've read the novel and yes, Eclis does end up betraying MC and it got me really angry but then turns out it was because he got brainwashed by Yvonne. It also gets frustrating bc Eclis fails to understand the MC because he was still blinded by his obsession to possess her while the MC built a wall between them bc of Eclis' betrayal. However, I lost all anger and just cried for Eclis in the end. like legit UGLY SOBBING ┗( T﹏T )┛ I think he just didnt know any better and probably deserved to be happy even just a little bit
