Not trying to criticize any culture here, but, if someone refuses a drink, why force them? Heck, even pulling that disgusting shit. I can't understand why the drinking culture doesn't allow any leeway for the non-drinkers and instead harasses them. Very toxic and unhealthy environment.
I don't know. I grew up in a non drinking society, so I wouldn't know why they humiliated people who couldn't drink.
Japanese work culture mostly like this. Its considered rude to not drink when offered to. But i think right now in Japan not like this anymore?
