It was actually for defense, the father planned to kinda bail her out from what I remember and gave her the knife to protect herself when she makes a break for it, the crown prince kinda came in the wrong time and thought it was for her to take her life ╥﹏╥

Its a happy ending don't worry! Max and Juvel got engaged (and got married), Juvel and her father got closer and they installed a magic portal in the palace so that Juvel and her father can visit each other any time. (I think they Juvel even gave birth in the special chapters?? i think so)
Mikhail, however, doesn't get a happy ending. He seriously lost his marbles and he does some horrible stuff to Juvel and Max. He was given a chance to kinda get a redemption arc but he chose to take his own life since he can't stand Juvel happy with Max.

no worries. its because there isn't an heir to the floen duchy so Juvel is both the crown princess and the duchess of floen. Another reason is because Juvel and her father have afternoon tea time together to spend time with each other (≧∀≦)
