Bum is a realistic depiction of a mentally ill man who has been abused and raped since a very young age, it's not that he lacks a backbone, but it shows how endless abuse, neglect, isolation, bullying can completely damage a person. Also he is scared sometimes because he lives with a dangerous, unpredictable killer. I can't say more because it's spoiler, the comment above is right, go read killing stalking, it's a masterpiece.

Everyone’s mentioning killing stalking (and although I’ve never read it I definitely see the similarities especially with what ppl are mentioning about the raws and how the red head is using the black hair boy as a replacement for the “teacher”) but I see more backbone on the black hair boy here than yoonbum unless yoonbum did have backbone and I just didn’t know
