Didn't he mentioned it in this update that Lizzie is too perfect (and stiff/perfectly controlled/unemotional) that he found it unnatural back then, hence why he kept his distance the first time around. He thought she has minimal emotions.
yes but that's because he isn't looking properly. ┗( T﹏T )┛ she conveyed her feelings at first, didn't she? like that time when she placed flowers at his office for him diligently every single time just bc he mentioned he liked the scent once. didn't she show a sincere smile back then? he was too preoccupied thinking that all she was, was a perfect doll that doesn't have any emotions. but that was just a prejudice made by him and the people in that empire. she just did what she thought was required of her as an empress bc that's how she was raised. ╥﹏╥
