ikr the way he shames her for being skinny is rude. My girl isn't rich and she can't afford a lot of stuff. Her grandma nearly had to die without a grave. Plus when he saw her naked, he didn't even feel ashamed and judged her by her looks.
He comes off a lot better in the novel
He's not trying to shame her, he's worried she's malnourished (which realistically she would be if her primary food intake was *lettuce*.)
As far as seeing her naked, he seemed pretty embarrassed and apologized several times.
I've seen loads of skeevy guys passed off as romantic in shoujo manga but this character isn't one of them imo.
he didn’t really shame her, it seems more like worry to me, imagine seeing a piece of old lettuce and hearing someone say that they eat lettuce almost every day for every meal. wouldn’t you get worried? and she doesn’t need to be that wealthy to eat food other than lettuce, she literally lives in a forest and since she’s a witch, i’m sure she knows what to eat and what not to eat.
He didn’t look at her naked on purpose and he obviously apologized then turned around right away after seeing her.
he did judge her, but that’s because he was very suspicious of her since he didn’t know her at all (she also seems a bit suspicious). it’s like the stepmother from snow white, she appeared out of nowhere wearing a hood and gave snow white an apple, and what did snow white do? she ate the apple and almost died
