Whaaaaaaaaaaaaat?!!? Fudjoshi, at least for myself, is just a person who enjoys reading yaoi and shipping boys mainly, but that does not mean i dont ship straight relationships or lesbians or so on. Just more on an yaoi side...and i actually does not have any problem with that.
Anyways. How ppl know abt this negative stuff??? Like...for 6 years i have been readin yaoi it is first time i encounter in comment section a saying like that....(〜 ̄△ ̄)〜

it's the literal definition of the word. fojushi translates to "dirty girl," because bl is "dirty" and you're "rotten" for liking it. you may use the word as something else, but that is what the word mean and where it comes from.
and basically everyone knows about fujoshi having a negative connotation, it's why everyone hates fujo's - because they pride themselves over obsessing over yaoi, to a point where it becomes such a staple to their identity they use words inherently homophobic to describe themselves.
if you like bl, that's okay. but if you obsess over bl to the point where it consumes you "omg i'm so bad all i do is read gay erotica all day omg" then you're a fujoshi. and if in 6 years you haven't heard anything like that... expand your community a little more. /gen

I think, u re seeing this word just in soooo negative way. It is your comprehension. Fudjoshi, yes, have a meaning of a dirty girl, bc yaoi have 18+ scenes and it is what it is. And what you are describing it is just stereotype. And yes, i love bl, and yes i read bl almost everyday with other shounen and shoujo manga, and that does not mean that i am just fudjoshi and i am not fudjoshi at all, or is there any other term for those who love yaoi manga? It is at least wrong to say that term is homophobic, when it does not define that this being homo is wrong. It define that it has dirty scene and ppl read it.
I am again saying that it is how i comprehend this word and its literal meaning means it. Now need to cancel everything. And , abt expanding my community - i literally read manga in English here for almost 4 years....reading comments everytime i finish reading new chapters...i think, it is you, who should a little change your way of understanding things....you are saying almost the same thing, as if smne said to a boy "u are weak as girls". Were girls refer to gender in overal, but here it is used as offensive word. The same thing with fudjoshi - overal yes they read "dirty" mangas, but we should clear this stereotype abt fudjoshi as we clear abt girls being "weak", not saying as you say stop collimg youself fudjoshi.
Also, u once even read a comment where said " if you like only boys on mangas, but against being them together in real life, then you are not fidjoshi ". Here too, a person said that fudjoshi is opposite to being homophobic

All I am saying is the literal meaning of it in Japan. I study etymology. I said what it means, that it is implying bl is dirty and you are rotten for liking it. the meaning of dirty that i was using was not dirty as in NSFW - you can interpret that in english, but in the japanese sense, it does not mean that.
I explained the definition to you, as well as it where it comes from, in Japan.
If you want to continue using the word, go for it. But you do know what it means. Don't try to say things like "it means dirty as in NSFW" when it literaly does not mean that in the Japanese definition. You can like BL. You can like Yaoi. But the term fujoshi is inherently homophobic in its etymology and usage.
I don't know why you are bringing sexism into the mix, I am talking about the Japanese etymology of the word. It does not mean dirty because of erotics. It means dirty in the same way "rotten" means "wrong." I'm literally giving you the Japanese definition.
Congrats on reading books in English. I do the same, as someone who is Korean and is from France.
I'm not cancelling anything, I am giving you simple advice and the definition of the word fujoshi. If you want to continue to use it, despite knowing the definition and what it implies, than you are just refusing to listen to other. I never once said fujoshis were weak, I said the word means "rotten/dirty girl," because BL is viewed as wrong and you are thus "rotten" for reading it. That is how the word came to be in its original language. That is the meaning it still has for many people.
Fujoshi specifically means dirty girl. Fudanshi is the male version. "Fudjoshi" is not a word. It can't be a word, actually, since it can not exist in Japanese.

Oooooh. Now i can understand. Okay~ but, might i will not use it Japan or korea, but still might use in daylife...cause...it is just a word who does not everyone knows at least in my country and other post USSR countries what fudjoshi mean but knows yaoi. The word for me ( i understand what you mean, and thanks for advice) smth positive. Bc of that i found friend with the same interests at school without further exposing what yaoi or so means. Thanks for educating. I will not try to use it often, i am just saying will use when trying to find yaoi friends at most in my country. Still will then educate them too, i mean, saying what it actually means. So...thanks(๑•ㅂ•)و✧
I LIKE THIS MANGA SOOOOOOOO MUUUUUCH!!!
NO STUPID GIRLS OR BOYS!! OOGICAL ACTIONS AND FANTASTIC ART WITH GREAT PLOT!! it is not hard to read and is easy to understand. The every action of characters are reasonable. The morals are just right! All ppl are respectful, rude when meeded and kind when needed without playing around. It is just an ideal manga!!(๑•ㅂ•)و✧(≧∀≦)
