Uhmmm why some of the readers doesn’t know the intention of his noona? It is just to protect him — protecting him does it mean trouble? She doesn’t want to worry and see his “brother” suffer anymore — that’s how usual a family member will do or reacted. ┑( ̄Д ̄)┍

    I agree.

    Long post, proceed with caution!

However, I personally think there is one thing the noona may be overlooking. As readers, we know from our viewership of this plot that Seungho has affection and attachment to Nakyum; therefore, it is unlikely that Nakyum will get hurt mortally (unfortunately, this does not pertain to the other pain he's experienced). HOWEVER, the noona as no knowledge of this rocky, yet "comfortable" relationship between these two. All she knows is that Seungho is a violent, selfish, arrogant "sodomite". Especially with his message that was relayed by the servant, the Noonan is aware of his violence and disregard of human lives through the clear threat to her very own life. Honestly, I would react the same way as she but I think it would be wise of her to proceed with caution. With her lack of knowledge, she should tread carefully because in her eyes, Seungho is capable of any evil. We, the readers know Seungho wouldn't hurt Nakyum, but the Noonan doesn't. She should proceed with the belief that if he could threaten her so violently, that Nakyum may be susceptible to the same threats. I'm not saying she shouldn't try to save or protect Nakyum. BUT as a plot and character anchor point, I think my only complaint is her lack of caution.

We don't know where the story will take us, but I think if we are to empathize with the noona, it would be easier if the noona were to not only be aware of this seemingly "dangerous" situation (thus, she would seem intelligent instead of impulsive) but also if she were not to misunderstand and create a wave of further misunderstandings.

Lol, sorry for the dissertation but I totally agree that her behavior is perfectly expected. I just wanted to share my two cents about how I hope she proceeds, as someone who isn't as aware of the whole picture (as opposed to us third-party readers).

Lol yes! I agree with a lot of what u r saying. If u ask me her impulsive character seems very “un-kisaeng like”. Now before some readers have their panties in a wad n attack me, let me clarify. Sorry I’m also writing a thesis like u :D lol

Usually a wo/men selling herself/himself, flesh-trader, prostitute, Kisaeng, geisha, escorts etc... call it whatever u will, the intent behind such professions is to please the customer. Their personalities become part of that culture, especially in ancient society as the setting of this story is. They will use means other than “confrontation”. This so called kisaeng & also nakyum’s sister would have learned to handle those above her station. She would have known for sure that crossing such nobles would cost both nakyum & her, their lives. However, the author has written her as a young arrogant warrior who is not even scared of a lord with a reputation like seungho’s. I get that she’s a big sister but for god’s sake she’s a kisaeng! She, at least would have had to learn about the realities of their world at a very young age. And in a classist & feudal society like theirs, for her to act like another haughty noble! Come on! this is the reason why some readers r irritated by her.
We, the 21st century readers, need to understand the anachronism of that society & how absurd her behaviour towards seungho was. Normally armed guards would stay her where she stood before their master lord seungho would even appear, or before she even entered his courtyard. Because most nobles at that time would have constructed multiple courtyards, obfuscating the main house from assassins n political rivals!

I think this is the author not able to write realistically. I don't want to offend her work but there are many anachronisms in PotN (just an example all the nobles not being married). I know Byeonduck said she doesn't care about accuracy but still
