There's a difference, for me anyways, when the rape scene doesn't do anything whatsoever for the plot...like you can literally take the rape scene out and it doesn't change the story in anyway...like even after there wasn't much impact of it to the MCs whatsoever and their relationship...it was just there almost for shock value...of course we read on to see what it did for plot purposes but it didn't and was just a terrible addition.
Obviously people can choose not to enjoy something if it includes rape or any content they’re uncomfortable with but there was a huge warning??? If you don’t like it that’s fine but complaining about that scene when you knew it was gonna happen is disconcerting
