My theory is that it was all the way around. She probably asked him to attract girls with his looks and do whatever it took, and since he loved her so much he did the best he could. I feel really bad for him tbh
true. that was a shitty move on the ex's part. and then dumping him cuz he was "so into her" and she felt overwhelmed? please that's probably just an excuse and she most likely didn't love him that much

Based off the conversation from chapter 3, it seems the suggestion to sleep with clients came from her side. She words it as though it was a joke, but her attitude about it and how she rejects him after makes it feel like it wasn't.

I kinda see this like when women in business (I don’t know if it still happens) get lowkey pressured into sleeping with clients to get deals. It’s no where near on the same level (cause he wasn’t being threatened and he started it), but it has a SIMILAR vibe to when there’s an office relationship between a superior and subordinate and they are like “you love me right? You’ll do it for me, right?”
Except in this case he initiated the sleeping transaction(? I’m not sure lmao)
Like the ex just went with it because her handsome boyfriend was bringing in clients and sleeping with her. If she actually loved him, she would have told him to stop. But she was just using the situation and once it was not beneficial to her anymore, she cut him off... that’s how I see it.
Summary: the guy shouldn’t have gone that path in the first place BUT his ex should have stopped him from literally prostituting himself for business on her behalf
