Might get attacked but here goes nothing...

I love this manga btw, believe me, I'm obsessed.

Problems I kinda found tho:

1. Homophobia?? - Hori-san being, "Idc if he cheats with a woman now, but a MAN?!" Or that moment when they were just discussing how Miyamura might go well with another guy and Miyamura goes, "I don't think our personalities would match." And hori goes, "that's the first thing you think about? Not the fact you're both men?" I mean, I see the comedic intent but these joke don't sit right with me.

2. Normalization of women hitting men - I MEAN IT'S FINE TO AN EXTENT. Obviously it's funny at first and it has great comedic effect, but I feel like it's a bit too much. I kinda feel bad for the guys here, they're really being considerate.

3. Hori-San's Character - I loved her a lot at the beginning: popular girl = friendly + reliable + doesn't judge ppl by appearance, that's why she was able to form a bond wit Miyamura. But over time, seeing her character reduced to a tsundere that screams all the time, overly-emotional, and hits Miyamura and others way TOO OFTEN is disappointing. I've always thought that she'd be less screamy and violent especially since she's been portrayed as this responsible sister that was able to endure not hanging out woth friends to take care of Sota. She can still be hot-headed and a bit heavy handed, and a grrat example of that would be her mother. She was gentle and nice but we do see that she also had the tendency to hit people, but at least with enough reason. One scene that irked me was when she freaked out about Miyamura piercing hir ears. Yes, I get it. Fear of seeing ppl you care bout piercing and getting hurt, "treasure yourself" I guess? (Piercings aren't bad unless you're doing it to hurt yourself like a bad coping mechanism) but the way she handled it was so off the handle. She threw a tantrum. A tantrum. Could've at least idk, talked it out? Asked? Or at least just sulked and pouted, that's better than locking herself in and screaming AND accidentally hitting Miyamura with a door which caused his ear to bleed. I just really loved Hori at the beginning since she was this typical highschooler with good grades, reliable, friendly, has familial values, and isn't particular about appearance. Now she's just kinda like the fls I dislike and cringe on, exploding like a bomb every chapter for the littlest of things. Props to Miyamura for being able to handle her. I don't mind her degrading kink I guess (no kink shaming), but sometimes consider your partner's feelings, Miyamura was mostly forced on it. It's obvious she treasures her a lot.

Btw I still like Hori, but not as much as the beginning. Also, please don't lump me in woth the people that would like to cancel this because of the homophobia thing, it's not a super big deal, I just expressed what I think are the flaws. All mangas have flaws anyway. And I'm also not labelling hori as full-on homophobic, I'm pertaining to the lines said, maybe it was worded wrong or my interpretation is quite pessimistic. Also, an example would be Hori not being grossed put by Sawada, so yea, she's not homophobic. I guess I just felt like some jokes were unnecessary and could rub some readers the wrong way.

lol i agree, i feel like she was presented as a different type of heroine in the beginning nd somehow ended up being the same tsundere fl as every other manga. its okay to like a series + still criticize the flaws in it

Yep! And thanks for a nice feedback. I really thought her character would divert from typical fls, but I guess I was wrong. Some tropes are really prominent in a manga no matter how it started I guess ╮( ̄^ ̄)╭

Agreed on all points. The reason I enjoyed this at the start was because Hori seemed like a sensible FL. I get that she gets her development of finally being able hang out and be a normal high schooler which manifests as being a 'typical' tsundere shoujo heroine; but the problem is that the original Hori is now nowhere to be seen. Chapter 1 Hori and current Hori are so different from each other, they might as well just be different people. I do find it sad that these violent and homophobic undertones still pervade popular manga-- Japan honestly still has such a long way to go.
