Finally a comment I agree with! All these people act like he's a bad person but that's only because us, as readers know Estrella is sweet and kind. We have to put ourselves in the boy's shoe. He was cursed at and called dirty when he ate food from the ground. He's been through some stuff too, not just Estrella.
Like you said, in his defense he literally /just/ meet Estrella and the first thing he sees is that Estrella has died. He doesn't know what went down, all he knows is she's dead. Putting yourself in his shoes you'll be freaked out too. How can someone who died be alive? I hope the author can make the boy understand what happened and hopefully he'll apologize to her about the things he's done.

As much as I don't want want Estrella getting hurt, I don't think red haired kid is bad just yet. We don't know him. It seems that he's been through a lot, and he picked up those jewels, so maybe it wasn't stolen but rather it chose him? And it looks like he went through a ton of shit too. I mean, his aura was black and blue, hatred and sadness. And in his defense, he met Estrella for the first time, their jeweled eyes did something, and the first thing he felt was that the girl ks dead and is a demon. I mean, who wouldn't freak out? Anyone that sensed that as a first impression will think that everyone is in danger and you're the only one aware of it since you're a jubar.
So right now, I'm putting my judgement for this kid on hold unless he're really evil or something. This kid just went through shit according to this current chapter.
