Indeed. I am 23 years old now and still find it a bit difficult to communicate properly with parents especially regarding the most honest feelings that has been keep for a long time (tho, it's not as heavy as the twin's).
Communication skills, especially if it involves parents, can't be measured with the age. It is measured by how they are raised, plus their own personality. Some might find it easy to be open about their feelings and some find it more comfortable and more 'right' to keep their feelings and opinions bottled up. That's how human is. That's how relationship between parents and child is. No one is perfect. But it also doesn't mean they can't change it either. So you can't totally blame them based on their age and mentality alone.

Ha! I'm 21, my point is we waited 54 chapters for them to sort things out, yeah not all kids communicate well with their parents for various reasons but 54 chapters of misunderstandings is a bit too much. The thing is that it's not completly about acting your age but to my opinion, after living 25 years or 17 years you know that if you don't talk people can't guess Whats on your mind so you are not entitled to make suppositions about them if you can't even speak your mind. I know their situation is hard, they are entitled to be angry/ sad/ lost etc, a lot of misunderstanding appeared and they were hurt but they chose to shut up and imagine a lot of things about the imperial family and none of them were true but they wouldn't know since they won't confront what is hurting them.
I never had a good relationship with my parents but I know well that unsaid things waste your energy/ time etc. Whatever it is, especially if it hurts, things should be said, it may be hard but it's also easy to do.

yaho ! im 17 . you said that it took them 45 chaps to open up about the misunderstanding .... for me , it has been 17 years and i still have problems with my father and sister and i can't look at them of a better side now .... i received some traumatic experience when i went through puberty and all that emo stuff . what im trying to say is , they have the mind of a teenager . with the way they were treated back at the palace .... it's truly a miracle that they're even talking to the royal family . teenagers tend to overthink .
Finally they talked! Ugh I can't stand it they are supposed to be mentally 25 years old yet they aren't able to talk about the things that upset them as if people around them could read their minds, hopefully the story can progress now and it won't be about " omg does the emperor loves us or not "
