Yes! I find romance scenes in most action mangas annoying because it seems forced, and turns the story bland. It would be really nice just him and his little team, with bereu ofc just hanging out and being close friends.

Ey, don’t cherry pick my words “damsel in distress ALL OF A SUDDEN”. This pertains to women who suddenly, once made by authors as the love interest, lose their characteristics. Like this woman was a bad bitch, now she’s just a whimpering maiden who needs to be saved by the male lead. That’s what I meant.
Also regarding “bitches”, that’s not meant to throw hate to anyone, but rather, a crass way in addressing a woman. That’s the context of that.
Jinwoo doesn’t have his own will, he moves to the will of his author. If that moment happens, it’s the author to hate not him.

okay i got chu. her character did change, i agree with that but i thought that's cuz the author's finally expanding on her personality, rather than keeping her the same. people change based on who they come in contact with. her badassery remains, it's just now her opponents are far stronger than herself.
one thing, you said you dont want her hindering his goal. how exactly if she hindering his goal? she needs saving like everyone else, is she somehow making it worse? like what part of her being the love interest makes her particularly more prone to hinder his goal? as far as i recall in the novel, she doesn't hinder his goal.
hum.... i dont think we’re in the same page. My comment was generalized, as in I came here because I was promised action scenes and not some forced romance in the midst of war, which is like the worst thing to have.
I also never said she was hindering him. What I was pertaining to is the forced romance that might happen should people keep asking where’s the romance scenes between characters. That would definitely hinder the goal/purpose of Jinwoo, who wanted to unravel the stuff between monarchs and rulers. And everything in between those. I would rather they save that after everything’s over, when there’s no more looming threath of death and destruction over their heads, and not when everything’s chaotic and people are literally dying left and right.
If you read my comment, it’s most about me not liking how people think romance would make everything better. It’s not the same with those mangas that makes MC being op the subplot just to get the girl who was promised to be a bad ass bitch but turned disappointing because ultimately she became a plot device to emphasize how OP and amazing the MC is. Solo Leveling is mad fascinating and very curious without needing to insert romantic subplot just to keep it interesting.
ahh okay. hopefully the webtoon is still enjoyable for the most part for you then. agree that the romance stuff adds nothing to the otherwise decent plot, but for some, adding nothing doesn't meaning making it worse either. so for those that it does make it worse, hope y'alls hold off alright.

I came here for the bad assery, the op-ness and cool ass graphics. I didn’t come here expecting lovey dovey shit wherein your gal became damsel in distress all of a sudden (well compared to our MC, everyone’s damsel in distress) then comes the cheesy romance scenes. I would love this for him to just end up alone, have some family time and peaceful life in the end. Don’t need any bitches tryna hinder him from his goal.
