Exactly, it feels so out of place that I now wish it was simply comraderie between the two of them. He says he's the same as Ernon but I haven't seen any of that. The prince is already chained by his role in life, the author really didn't need to chain him with another unrequited love, Kasil would have been fine without him. The love triangle is unnecessary.

And yes I'm an emotionless bastard, I felt nothing for him because this 'affection' seemed forced (by the author, just another sob story) , why can't it just be simple respect for one another? Have you considered these emotions before, does it have to be love between a female and male colleague? Like I really don't see what brought up this affection.
