Honestly its more about how racist it looks. The fact that they had to lighten her skin tone makes it seem as though it being previously brown was a disgusting thing... It just doesn't sit right with me, personally.
Honestly, I think even if she were to say, only have black hair and black eyes I believe the people in the story won't treat her any different than they did but I get it irl people are sensitive to skin colour so I guess it's inevitable to think that it's racist...
No it’s just weird cause when you read other stories about characters receiving powers it’s usually that hair/eyes/body shape that changes.When the author decided to change the skin it was weird because what reason was there to do that?It low-key insinuates that’s long with the dark sprit king being bad anything of a skin color like his is also bad.I mean it would have been cool for her to change hair color atleast because there was no one with black hair.

Well personally I believe it's because the light spirit king is (in a way?) stronger than the dark spirit king thus she changes the biggest part of her from the 3 og things that was changed (i.e her skin/eyes/hair colour) but yeah it would have been better if the author/artist had chosen to change sth else even if only for the sake of avoiding the drama that came with the change

I know there's a lot of hate so the author/artist was put under pressure to change her skin colour but personally I hope they could still show sth that indicate that she was blessed by the light spirit king, like maybe change her hair instead, or her eyes or even make some mark appears somewhere idk ┐(´д｀)┌
I personally have no problems at all with her skin colour change since it makes sense y'know? Her dad have lighter skin tone, her mom have lighter skin tone, her brothers have lighter skin tone so it's like she reverted back to how she was supposed to look like yeah? And I believe that the light spirit king is (in a way?) stronger than the dark spirit king so like her blessing will change the biggest part of her hahaa I would have like it if the author/artist stick to what they wanted to go with since that'll shows that they have some balls but alas we need to please the masses =w=
