Because he was hanging out with the coyote, and I think he knows that the cat likes him or sum? If that makes sense
he’s jealous and thinks that kitty is only there for the wolfies and it kinda brings back his old bad memories from when he’s little and realized how no one in his life was really genuine, etc.
