Yeah but, as far it goes there hasn't been a scene where his father hurt any innocent people. Theres only this stupid guy suddenly make the statement about his father is a monster just bc he come out of the gate 10(?) years later. The guy who was killed before, the killer is not his father and they said something about fragment of light(?) Since there is no evidence, he'll protect his family even if he making an enemy out of the world. He is the new monarch after all.
