The person IS female. (Unless the author suddenly reveals the character to be a transgender person or a hermpahrodite.)

I assume, since the korean language has gender-neutral pronouns (from what i know), the translators actually didn't read the story and just saw that the doctor looks more male than female (I also thought she was a guy at first), hence why they assumed the pronouns need to be male.
This is one issue with stories that change translators who didn't read the story but just translate. In general it's best to go by the best (most grammatically accurate) translated chapters, those usually bother to check the original work or get info such as character reference sheets to check the gender.
