Is true that there's a large population of Japanese (or descendants of Japanese) in South America with Japanese names (like Peru's Keiko Fujimori). However, with these isekai stories the authors always name it so that the MC and all isekai'd people are from the same nationality as the author. They don't really go for diversity. I get it though. It's safer to just write from a Japanese point of view so you dont get anything wrong.
