Good story, but truly heartbreaking.

So I'm going to adopt Shin. I mean I can because I'm old enough. So first I'm gonna get rid of that fucker, who doesn't deserve to be called a father, then I'm going to adopt him.

And every fucking adult in this story is bloody useless. I don't know if it's okay for parents to hit their kids in Japan, but this is not okay. The nurse and doctor should be fired, the teachers as well and Joy's parents are horrible parents that leave their children like that. Joy should not have that kind of responsibility.

If any kids have it like these children, then they need to contact social services.

Poor children.

I agree with you in the fact that we are going to adopt shin however the doctors and parents are actually doing what is best they want to help shin but not if he doesnt ask for it and I know it seems shitty but that's how it is unless they have hard proof the abuse is happening theres not much they can do. alot of the time in abusive situations if the victim doesnt want or ask for help theres nothing they can do also it would make the situation a whole lot worse with his dad because his dad has so much power he can easily control those around him (and had done so in the past as stated in earlier chapters) I hope this has raised some awareness ╥﹏╥

Well, they are most definitely not doing their jobs. If a nurse, teacher, doctor have any suspicions of abuse they are required by law to report to social services, who will make an investigation.

Here in sweden, the school even reports parents to the social services if the children have a high rate of absence despite covid19.

At work (I’m a I'm a preeschool teacher) we must contact the social services at the slightest sign of abuse. if we do not do that, we will be reported and lose our job. When Joy's parents say they can do nothing, it's wrong. If violence in close relationships is suspected, they should contact the police. They can protect Shin by letting him live there in the meantime. My point is that if you see someone who is being subjected to violence, you should do everything in your power to help and protect the person. Of I see any of my kids friends being abuse then I will sure as hell do something about it.

you raise a very fair point but it also varies country to country (⌒▽⌒) also I would be the same as you in this type of situation (๑•ㅂ•)و✧. I would like to start a petition to legally adopt shin and hire an assassin to delete his father ヽ(`Д´)ノ
