Yesss. It’s so tragic since he hid his love in order to protect her. In one of the scenes in the novel he says to their child. “Your mom was a great person, but you’re the only thing of hers left behind.” Like ughhhh he’s so sweet.

from what i heard is that Ciel loved her even in the past life because he already know that Elena was an imposter or was a fake Veronica but despite that he loves her because he loves Elena for what she truly is, he wanted Elena to confess but he thought that making her confess will only put a wall between them so he wanted Elena to confess on her own. When Veronica came back, Ciel immediately recognized that it was the real Veronica and then threaten her to tell where him where his wife is who is Elena went and when he found it that she was killed by her then he proceed on killing Veronica and devoted his life on his son and mourning over Elena
