I know! When I first started to read the story a lot of people were complaining that she was really weak and why didn't she just leave. People forget that psychological abuse is very hard to get over and recognize for the abuser. She doesn't understand because that's what she's been raised on.
And also, we have to remember that back when this is based on, women had no prospects outside of marrying out of the house. She isn't weak, it's just that she has to have support so that she can recognize what she's been through and to be able to move forward.
I just wish that Riftan and the other knights start to recognize the signs of abuse instead of thinking that she's just a noble lady that doesn't like him and has been spoiled all her life. I feel like that will be so satisfying to witness!
to be fair those haters are just dumb or just very young kids that don't know how a good character is. so there is no need to mind those haters too much ლ(´ڡ`ლ) Maxi is a very good character and strong woman, I love her a lot!
I love how she's different than other characters. Sometimes when you have so many characters that seem to be the same it's very cathartic to see a different character portrayal.
right? it so refreshing and I love her character development (๑•ㅂ•)و✧ it feels so realistic and original. that how character development should be! I never thought I will see the day that I see a real character development that feels like she is growing and I want to support her.
So true! I see her growing and trying to change herself, but it's not an immediate change because she still has so many insecurities. But she wants to do better and so she pushes herself outside of her comfort zone. I can't wait for the day when she can stand by Riftan on equal ground and smile with confidence.
I love y’all in the comments understanding maxi and not calling her weak. A lot people seem to think a women with pyshical strength is a strong women. I think Maxi is hella strong for dealing with psychical and psychological abuse all her life.
