Yeah i guess, personally if i were in my 40's i'd never date a 20 something person, cause the things we're going thru at those ages are really different and i would feel they still need more life experience to develop.
But particularly about these characters, the highschooler was like really innocent, didn't have any dating or sexual experience up to that point and he just felt safe in the 32 yo house cause he thought of him as family. While the adult the whole time he was thinking how to make a move or how attracted he was to him and stuff. For me it felt icky, that's my opinion.
he IS grooming him, theres no defending that. The reason some of you think its justified is because the author is justifying it, and making out to be a cute heartwarming story. it doesn't matter if they wait until after high school, that is literally a manipulation tactic and a part of the grooming process. you can still read and enjoy the story, but don't ignore the fact that there is something morally wrong here
