So basically the emperor is trying to get close to the eunuch but the eunuch feels that emperor is just playing with him and has no feelings for him. The gold and stuff shown in the eunuch's room is kind of like bribe given to him by others since rumor has spread that the emperor who only has a queen and no concubine is favouring a eunuch and spending time with him. Later the emperor comes to know about this issue and orders a investigation to be done and thinks why the eunuch hasn't told him about the issue the eunuch is facing even he is favours the eunuch.
This is what I understood from the translation and from guessing the way the story is progressing I might be wrong if so do correct me.
