I haven't read the novel, but from the reviews, they said Eclise only betrayed her because he was brainwashed?
Then MC hated him despite knowing that and she also played a major part in twisting his personality(from failing to ever keep her promises to see him etc despite knowing how isolated he is etc)
No he wasn't brainwashed what i heard from he was obsessed with the FL that he brought the real Penelope he thought that he can have The FL when he brought her but it wasn't what he imagined would be and bc of that the FL was puted in jail but she ran away and meet callisto in a mountain hole,
