I prefer it like this though because its not that cliché, because it shows that once time has passed and your son/daughter is already grown up but you don't have a good relationship with them, it is hard to make a good relationship but if you try hard then maybe you'll be able to reach to them. Unlike when you are facing a kid, some kids can easily be swayed so long as they can feel loved and be happy
the author should have returned her back to when Vicente was still a kid.tht's more appropriate.aish
