I think his talk with Ohara a few chapters back will clarify this but yea past!Jeremy was in love with Shuli but only realized it after her death. also SPOILER SPOILER SPOILER apparently in the novel he falls in love with her again in the present timeline but never acts on it (thank god).
Ch 60 where people are talkin about the marquis neuwanstein going half crazy for his dead lover. People really saw him go crazy over Shulli's death as a reaction really appropriate of a dead lover. So give me the spoils anyone who has it. Does Jeremy really love her or is it just regret for things he could not do for her.
