Wait wait wait.... You're right about almost everything, but I think the Goddess explained before that actually Elzay did exist but she always ended up dying/giving up her life for Aseph, so the Goddess sent her to "the other world" and took her memories of Aseph, the story and all her previous lives to prevent her from sacrificing herself yet again, to give her a chance to have a life of her own. Tho, in the end she read the book and still chose to try and save Aseph again.

Elzay has obviously died many times to save Aseph. She gave up her former self and memories of her own past to be with him. She read the story and became part of his story when she saved him since the beginning. Crest or no crest she truly loves him and vice versa. I am glad she finally told him the truth but she left the most crucial part out of her confession...she was never supposed to be a part of his story...Elzay Tiathe never existed. I believe he would give up his life for her at this point. I truly want Elzay and Aseph to be happy. Wish that evil demon would let them live in peace. He is a Crest Hunter who feeds off of others misery. I hope Aseph defeats him and the Crown Prince overthrows his Fathers (the King) thrown. This story and the art is awesome and I can’t wait for the next episodes. This should be an anime. ヾ(☆▽☆)
