dang he just pulled the knight's oath

Rezef's always been dark. I wish he had a happier ending, but he's been twisting for a long time now. ╥﹏╥

He doesn't die, and all the enemies are punished, but that's all I can say. I just wish the poor little yandere had more than one year of happiness. ┗( T﹏T )┛

Omg spoiler is fine with me please. Im also curious abt what will happen to rezef since tje ML and FL will get a happy ending but how abt our poor by rezef after all these

Okay, but I haven't seen every spoiler, so I got some pretty big gaps.

So you know, Rezef is really a yandere. I still love him and want better for him, but he's truly irredeemable. Which sucks, because obsessively protective families are my jam, and is 95% of the reason I even read this novel.

So at this point, Cayena thinks that Rezef can still be rehabilitated. But in the near future, her nanny will be called back to the palace. Rezef exiled her a while back because of jealousy, which hasn't gone away because he and Cayena are close now, so stuff happens and he ends up killing her. (I only know he kills the nanny, not how or why.)

Anyway, after that Cayena stops trying to get Rezef the throne. Instead she supports her OTHER younger half-brother for the throne (the mistress's son with the Emperor, who's a kid).

I don't know everything she does, but at the end there's a magic battle, yada yada, Emperor gets poisoned, and Cayena cures him with a magic elixir. Rezef has LOST it because Cayena isn't supporting him as heir anymore, but he doesn't care; she can be the Empress so long as she doesn't abandon him. She is literally all he cares about now.

She warns him that if he raises a hand to her, she will disappear and he will never see her again. But he's insane at the time and tries to stab her, so she teleports away. He's absolutely devastated.

Cayena used too much magic with this and is comatose, since her master took away her magic to save her life. Raphael hides Cayena at his home, and uses his connections to prove it wasn't Rezef who poisoned the Emperor (though it was), but a different political rival and basically makes a huge case for Rezef to be made heir. Basically gets the public opinion on Rezef's side over Rezef being beaten and abused by the Emperor his whole life because the Emperor hated Rezef's mother.

Meanwhile, Rezef gets his hands on the Emperor's journal and finds out that the Emperor hated him because the late Empress (his and Cayena's mother) cheated with Raphael's father, and Rezef was the result, leading to the Emperor killing her and abusing Rezef.

Obviously, Rezef goes even more crazy, kills the Emperor, the Emperor's servants, and then goes to kill his birth father as well...which turns the public against him again. He's arrested, reduced to commoner status, and exiled to somewhere Cayena will never see him again. At which point Cayena comes out of hiding.

Afterwards, Cayena temporarily becomes Emperor while she waits for the mistress's son to grow up enough to take over ruling the kingdom. She lives very happily with Raphael, and Rezef has taken to mailing her chess pieces he's carved along with letters she never reads until years later, in the last chapter, she reads that Rezef says he understands why she did it.

Omg poor rezef... That was kinda hard to take it. Lmao. I was rooting for the poor boy. Like i believe he's just a pure boy who grew up with a bad environment. This is why good parenting is always needed ugh

But wait???? So if Cayena & Rezef's mom cheated w Raphael's dad and he is the result,,,, wont that make them siblings??? Am i not catching on it properly??

Rezef and Raphael, yes. Cayena and Raphael, no. Cayena is the Emperor's daughter with the Empress. Rezef is the Empress's son with Raphael's father.
