Charlize literally was a sword for centuries being used against her will to massacre thousands of people and is only back into human form for maybe a couple years to a decade. But during this, she is trying to make the prince a tyrant and only has her revenge and ambition in mind fueling her through the pain and misery she endured. There is no way she can overcome her previous trauma and come to love and trust someone just like that, especially the person she intends to leave after crowning him as a tyrant in her plans. Her emotions are pretty muted tbh right now

But also poor ML that hurts worse than being gutted, she is literally all he has rn after his mom passed away and he is doing this all for her willingly....just Big Ouch
