The story about his past was horrifying and some of the images you can't get out of your head.
Hate that stupid girl, so selfish and thinks she loves him even though she never even tried understanding him. Just always 'Why do you box?'. Come on, girl, use your brain. That boy has nothing and there is one thing he can do - Box! Of course he is going to give his best and try his hardest.

By the way, how does Riku keep up his grades? I am surprised he is still in school, even though the only thing we saw him doing was boxing and silently sitting in his classroom.
