haha sure!! i saw that too before i read the novel and i was so confused. basically hua cheng or san lang left to take care of some things in the ghost realm- bc he's the ghost king. xie lian will be sent a mission and that will be the reason their paths will cross again!! it'll be a little later into season 2 which i believe is being released sometime this summer or fall. but that's also when the 'bl' action starts to kick in and many more loveable characters are on the way!! i totally think you should also read the novel- ofc that's if you want to- but i really enjoyed it. i hope that answered your question :)

i'm very happy you're excited!! i will say (as a word of caution) there is a lot of angst and for such a gentle person, xie lian went through a lot :( and there are sooo many tws- but i loved every second of it and mxtx also has 2 other novels which i strongly encourage you to read too!! also, it is a bit confusing (at least it was for me) but it'll do you some good to remember very small details... but i hope you enjoy!!

no, i promise you don't sound stupid- it was a great question!! i would recommend reading the novel because this (the manhwa) leaves out some key details :) you could also watch season one of the anime and that would also cover just about everything until now and if i'm correct, after s1 and the s1 special, in the novel that already puts you at ch. 50 !!! but it isn't required, it's just that things will make more sense that way. :)

i've seen the anime, read the novel, and read this and i'm OBSESSED PLS. i love hua cheng (san lang) sosoosooososo much- he's like wei wuxian but a top? xie lian is also such a comforting character like can i hug him pls?? but ah the art istfg is so so so beautiful omg (⌒▽⌒)
